Thirty-five teams from the finance, legal, tech, real estate and entertainment sectors recently raised over $615,000 for our youth at the 3rd annual Covenant House Guts + Glory Team Obstacle Challenge presented by Home Trust.
Teams of colleagues sweat and bonded together as they competed to take home the trophy and the glory. Ten obstacle challenges ranging from inverted wall climbs to relays and power sled races tested might and moxie. Team fundraising tallies were also included as part of the overall score.
Some of our youth from Covenant House also formed a team to compete. The event was a memorable and meaningful one for our young athletes who challenged the corporate teams with their youthful enthusiasm.
Team National Bank took first place overall, as well as the top fundraising team prize. Team Medcan placed second, followed by Team Uber.
“We’re so pleased with how the financial community has whole-heartedly embraced this event,” says Bruce Rivers, Executive Director, Covenant House Toronto. “Now in its third year, Guts + Glory has rallied hundreds of professionals from across Canada’s highest performing sectors all in support of homeless youth.”
Ben Mulroney was our charming host at Ryerson Mattamy Athletic Centre, formerly the historic Maple Leafs Gardens. Youth from our culinary arts program, Cooking for Life, served the tasty meal.
At the event, we spoke about the youth we serve and work we do with our corporate guests. We are so grateful to all those who raised funds and donated to support our life-changing programs and our incredible youth.
