Senior Financial Analyst

Full time position, 35 hour per
week
As Canada’s largest agency serving at-risk, homeless and trafficked youth, Covenant House Toronto changes lives by providing the widest range of services and support to almost 300 youth a day. A national leader, we educate and advocate for change by influencing public policy and delivering prevention and awareness programs. More than a place to stay, we provide 24/7 crisis shelter and transitional housing on-site and in the community, along with comprehensive services including education, counselling, health care, employment assistance, job training and aftercare. To do all this, we rely on donors for more than 80 percent of our $30.6-million annual operating budget. Our doors are open to youth 16 to 24 regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or the circumstances that have brought them to our doors.
This position will assist the Controller in the day to day operations of the Finance Department.

Responsibilities:

·Review Accounts Payable and Visa Entries
·Perform various reconciliations and prepare related GL entries
·Complete periodic reports for external funders and record related entries
·Internal cycle reviews
·Assistin month end and year end closing
·Maintain fixed asset register
·Ad-hoc reporting as required
·Assist with projection and budgets
·Assist Controller with Annual Information Return (T3010)
·Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:

·CPA accounting designation required – post secondary degree or diploma from University or College
·5 years of accounting experience (intermediate to senior level), experience in a
not-for-profit environment, preferred
·Extensive knowledge of HST legislation and filings
·Experience in Sage AccPac (GL, AP and Bank Service) is a must
·Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite includes: Excel (advanced), Word (intermediate)
·Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge is an asset
·Strong analytical skills and orientation to detail
